Rowland S Howard

Whenever I'm thinking of putting together a new video I'll often go on YouTube and see whether there are already videos covering the song or topic that I have in mind. There are usually lots; many of them very good. So I'll either find another idea or, if I think I can do something better, go ahead and do it anyway. It's rare to find an artist to whom not a single YouTube guitar lesson has been devoted, but I think I've found one in Rowland S Howard. He's very much an underground, cult guitarist, probably best known for his work with Nick Cave in The Birthday Party. In this lesson I take a look at the song Breakdown (and then…) from his 1999 solo album Teenage Snuff Film. Find the lesson here.

RSH in 1981. Cigarette absent on this rare occasion.
