It’s been a while since I’ve filmed a lesson aimed at you acoustic players, so this week I’m taking a detailed look at a favourite track of mine from Bert Jansch – the man Neil Young has described as the Jimi Hendrix of the acoustic guitar. Find the lesson page here.
If you’ve not heard of Jansch before, I highly recommend you give him a listen. A good place to start would be the very good compilation Dazzling Stranger. My favourite Bert albums are probably his self-titled debut, which contains Needle of Death, and his 3rd album, Jack Orion. The latter includes the stunning track Blackwaterside which Jimmy Page famously ripped-off as Black Mountain Side on the first Led Zeppelin album.
