In this Nice Lick we’re using a polyrhythmic idea to add more interest to a simple A minor pentatonic phrase. The basic idea is that we’re playing a repeated group of 4 notes using a triplet rhythm. Once you’ve got the hang of it, try applying the same concept to licks of your own. It’s a powerful way to add rhythmic interest to your solos and improvisations.
